As a pioneer in the implementation of research for the Indonesia Indigenous Modern Medicine (OMAI) products certified by the Halal Product Assurance System, Dexa Group has achieved the Indonesia Halal Industry Award (IHYA) 2022 for the Best Halal Innovation category. The award held by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia appreciates the industry’s contribution to strengthening the halal industry ecosystem in Indonesia.
Indonesia Halal Industry Award (IHYA) 2022 was presented by the Indonesian Minister of Industry, Mr. Agus Gumiwang, to Dexa Group CEO Mr. Ferry Soetikno, witnessed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Airlangga Hartarto. Also presented for Dexa Group were Operations Director Dexa Medica Mr. Gunawan Lukman and Head of Corporate Communications Mr. Sonny Himawan.
“Based on data from The Global Islamic Economy Indicator in the State of Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report, sharia economic indicators continue to improve, and in 2022 Indonesia is ranked 4th after Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. This rating is higher compared to 2018 when Indonesia ranked 10th. In the same report, Indonesia is the largest consuming country for halal products in the world and covers 11.34% of global halal expenditure,” said Coordinating Minister Mr. Airlangga Hartarto at the Indonesia Halal Industry Awards (IHYA) 2022 ceremony at the Jakarta Convention Center, Friday, 9 December 2022.
Therefore, according to the Coordinating Minister, the development of halal-based industries is important as Indonesia exports around 46.7 billion USD, including food, fashion, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. “With imports of halal products worth USD 14.5 billion, so that in the halal sector, Indonesia has a surplus of 32.2 billion,” explained the Coordinating Minister.
In addition, the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Agus Gumiwang, said that the IHYA 2022 Award was held to encourage the industry to enter the global market and meet the demand for global halal products.
“We are pursuing this potential, especially for halal export products. Our industry cannot be left behind, so we are carrying out initiatives to encourage industries to enter the global market to fill the demand for global halal products,” he explained.

Dexa Group has thousands of halal-certified products. Dexa Group’s halal-certified products reach 97% or more than 1,300 products. Dexa Group products are distributed in more than 13,000 health facilities throughout Indonesia.
Mr. Ferry explained that Generic Drugs with Logo (OGB) from Dexa, which are halal certified, have been used in many hospitals throughout Indonesia, such as the Muhammadiyah Hospital. “Muhammadiyah Hospital uses OGB Dexa products with the halal logo because they are halal-guaranteed, and patients throughout Indonesia have more peace of mind to use OGB Dexa with the halal logo,” said Mr. Ferry.
Dexa Group products and all Dexa Group production facilities have also received halal certification. This commitment is in line with the directives of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which requires all products to be halal certified through Government Regulation Number 39 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of the Field of Halal Product Guarantee signed on 2 February 2021.
Dexa Group achieved the Indonesia Halal Industry Awards for the Best Halal Innovation category for its success in increasing the Independence of Indonesia Indigenous Modern Medicine Raw Materials with a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of more than 80%, such as Disolf products.
