Indication

Indicated for the treatment of:
Perennial Rhinitis
Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis
Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria

Dosage

UP TO 2 YEARS


2 TO 5 YEARS OLD
2.5–5 mg daily

6 TO 11 YEARS OLD
5-10 mg daily

12 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE

OTHER DETAILS
The time of administration may be varied to suit individual patient needs. Usually given as a single daily dose, with or without food.

PATIENTS WITH RENAL OR HEPATIC IMPAIRMENT
— 12 years and older:
In patients aged ≥12 years and adults with decreased renal function (creatinine clearance 11-31 ml/minute), patients on hemodialysis (creatinine clearance <7 ml/minute) and in patients with impaired hepatic function, the recommended dose is 5 mg once a day.

— 6–11 years:
In patients 6-11 years of age with impaired renal and hepatic function should also be used at a lower than recommended dose.

— 6 years and younger:
In the absence of information regarding the pharmacokinetics and safety of using cetirizine HCl in children <6 years with renal or hepatic impairment, the use of cetirizine HCl is not recommended in this patient population.
