Indication

Etoricoxib is indicated for:
Osteoarthritis (OA)
Symptom relief in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) (I p.1, II p.54, III p.1, IV p.1)
Chronic musculoskeletal pain
Relief of chronic musculoskeletal pain (I, III p.1)
Dental surgery
Relief of acute pain associated with dental surgery (I, III p.1, IV p.1)

Dosage

18 TO 65 YEARS OLD
Arthritis (Osteoarthritis):
The recommended dose is 60 mg once daily.

Analgesia
— Acute pain associated with dental surgery:
The recommended dose is 120 mg once daily. Etoricoxib 120 mg should be used only for the acute symptomatic period.

— Chronic musculoskeletal pain:
The recommended dose is 60 mg once daily.

Doses greater than those recommended for each indication have either not demonstrated additional efficacy or have not been studied. Therefore, the dose for each indication is the maximum recommended dose.

UP TO 18 YEARS
Safety and effectiveness have not been established

65 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE
No dosage adjustment in etoricoxib is necessary for the elderly.

ADMINISTRATION
Etoricoxib is administered orally. Etoricoxib may be taken with or without food.

GENDER AND RACE
The recommended dosage is not affected by gender and race.

PATIENTS WITH HEPATIC INSUFFICIENCY
— Mild hepatic insufficiency
In patients with mild hepatic insufficiency (Child-Pugh score 5-6), a dose of 60 mg once daily should not be exceeded.

— Moderate hepatic insufficiency
In patients with moderate hepatic insufficiency (Child-Pugh score 7-9), the dose should be reduced; a dose of 60 mg every other day should not be exceeded, administration of 30 mg once daily can also be considered.

— Severe hepatic insufficiency
There are no clinical or pharmacokinetic data in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency (Child-Pugh score >9).

PATIENTS WITH RENAL INSUFFICIENCY
In patients with advanced renal disease (creatinine clearance <30 ml/min), treatment with etoricoxib is not recommended. No dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with lesser degrees of renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance ≥30 ml/minute).
