Indication

Treatment of Essential Hypertension

Dosage

18 TO 65 YEARS OLD
The recommended dose is 40 mg once daily. Some patients may already benefit at a daily dose of 20 mg. In cases where the target blood pressure is not achieved, telmisartan dose can be increased to a maximum of 80 mg once daily. Telmisartan may be taken with or without food.

65 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE
No dosing adjustment is necessary.

0 TO 18 YEARS OLD
The use of Telmisartan in pediatric patients under 18 years of age is not recommended due to limited safety and efficacy data.

PATIENTS WITH HEPATIC IMPAIRMENT
In patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment, the posology should not exceed 40 mg once daily.

PATIENTS WITH RENAL IMPAIRMENT
No posology adjustment is required for patients with mild and moderate renal impairment. Telmisartan is not removed from blood by hemofiltration
