JAKARTA — Indonesia recorded 474,083 new cases and 283,299 deaths due to cancer, according to 2024 Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN) data. This situation underscores the critical role of Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals in expanding its support for cancer patients—from delivering access to medications to strengthening chemotherapy support facilities through the provision of Cytostatic Drug Preparation Units (TPO Sitostatika) in more than 10 hospitals across Indonesia, including the recent renovation of the Cytostatic TPO at RSUD Dr. H. Abdoel Moeloek in Lampung Province completed in 2026.
A Cytostatic TPO is a dedicated, specialized cleanroom where cytostatic medications are compounded into intravenous solutions prior to administration during chemotherapy. Ferron’s contribution lies in renovating existing hospital TPOs to ensure they comply with stringent medical regulatory standards.
This facility support complements Ferron’s ongoing mission to broaden access to cancer treatment throughout Indonesia. Ferron’s oncology products currently serve more than 1,200 hospitals nationwide and supply approximately 32 percent of the cancer medication demand under the National Health Insurance (JKN) program.
Commercial Director of PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Johannes Suthya, stated that supporting cancer patients requires a holistic approach—not only through drug supply, but also by enhancing the infrastructure that underpins patient care. Targeted hospitals receiving support for Oncology TPOs include RS dr. Arifin Achmad in Pekanbaru (Riau), RS dr. M. Hoesin in Palembang (South Sumatra), RS dr. Saiful Anwar in Malang (East Java), RS dr. Moewardi in Surakarta (Central Java), RS dr. M. Djamil in Padang (West Sumatra), RS dr. Soebandi in Jember (East Java), RS dr. Soetomo in Surabaya (East Java), RS dr. Kandou in Manado (North Sulawesi), and RS dr. Wahidin in Makassar (South Sulawesi).

By renovating the Cytostatic TPO at RSUD Dr. H. Cytostatic TPOs must meet specific, rigorous requirements that distinguish them from standard aseptic drug-compounding spaces. The units are engineered to uphold product quality during compounding while safeguarding the health and safety of healthcare personnel handling the drugs.
The renovation of the Cytostatic TPO at RSUD Dr. H. Abdoel Moeloek encompassed key technical upgrades compliant with facility standards, including the installation of wall and ceiling sandwich panels and antibacterial vinyl flooring.
Establishing a compliant Cytostatic TPO is essential for hospitals providing chemotherapy services. Meeting these specialized compounding room standards is also a critical parameter evaluated during healthcare facility assessments and hospital accreditation processes.
Ferron has been supporting the renovation of Cytostatic TPOs across various hospitals since 2017. This initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to strengthen the overall cancer care ecosystem across Indonesia’s regions.
