The Indonesian Doctors Association inaugurated the erection of a monument named “Pengabdian Dokter Indonesia” to remember the services of doctors who died to preserve the lives of Indonesians while dealing with COVID-19. Dexa Group took part in the establishment and inauguration of the monument, which took place on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the PB Office of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The inauguration of the Pengabdian Dokter Indonesia Monument was attended virtually by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Ma’ruf Amin, and in-person by the General Chairperson of PB IDI Daeng M Faqih, Chair of the IDI COVID-19 Task Force Prof Zubairi Djoerban, President Director of PT Dexa Medica Mr. V Hery Sutanto, and other invited representatives.

IN HIS SPEECH, K. H. Ma’ruf Amin, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, stated that this monument would remind Indonesia that it had passed a challenging test. “I also hope that this memorial would reawaken the spirit of our dedication and battle for the Indonesian people, nation, and state that we love,” K.H Ma’ruf Amin stated.

Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, praised and expressed his deep gratitude to the 730 doctors who died on duty. “We honor the doctors who died by erecting the Pengabdian Dokter Indonesia Monument. Let us continue to struggle and work hard to be heroes for our families, heroes for others, heroes for our country and state, “Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated.
Prof. Zubairi Djoerban, the head of the IDI COVID-19 Task Force, stated that 751 doctors have died due to COVID-19 since 2020. “The medical community is well-versed in various dangers, including the possibility of contracting the Corona virus. These possibilities were considered by the deceased. However, the heroes wish to remain in the medical field, serve the community, and treat patients, including Corona virus patients,” Prof Zubairi added.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, Mr. V Hery Sutanto, President Director of PT Dexa Medica, expressed gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to the creation of the Pengabdian Dokter Indonesia Monument. Dexa Medica was founded and established by the late Mr. Rudy Soetikno, a pharmacist and military figure who dedicated his service by developing and presenting medicines in short supply.

Dexa Medica also reacted fast to producing and presenting the medicines required. This collaboration with the Ministry of Health, BPOM, Badan Nasional Penaggulangan Bencana (BNPB), and doctors through their professional organization, the Indonesian Doctors Association, and other associations.
