Dexa Group participates in supporting collaboration between the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) and business actors for the Net Zero Carbon Program through planting mangroves in the Angke Nature Tourism Park (TWAA) Kapuk area, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 31 October 2023. This program implements the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and a form of care for the earth, future generations, and society.

The event was attended by the Head of BPOM RI, Mrs. Dr. Penny Lukito, and drug and food industry players. Dexa Group was represented by Main Director of Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Benny Sutisna Suwarno.

16,000 mangrove plants were planted around the TWAA Pantai Indah Kapuk location. “We hope this can absorb 345.5 tons of CO² equivalent. This program is multiyear in the form of 47,500 mangroves over the next five years to absorb 1,380 tons of CO² equivalent,” explained Mrs. Penny.

Mrs. Penny continued that the medicine and food industry is one of the waste producers. “Therefore, we must care about the environment because industry produces waste. For this effort, BPOM, as the regulator, provides incentives in regulations.”

According to Mr. Benny, Dexa Group’s participation in the Net Zero Carbon Program initiated by BPOM is in line with the company’s core values of deal with care.

“Dexa Group, as a partner of BPOM, has core values of deal with care, which is in line with the Net Zero Carbon event. Our care for nature and the earth is one of the implementations of deal with care,” said Mr Benny.

Apart from that, this collaborative action of planting mangroves is Dexa Group’s commitment to one of the implementations of Sustainable Development Goals 7, 13, and 14, related to clean energy, handling climate change, and ocean ecosystems.
