Azomax
Indication
Azithromycin is indicated for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the specific conditions listed below:
Upper respiratory tract infections
e.g. streptococcal pharyngitis/tonsillitis and acute bacterial sinusitis.
Lower respiratory tract infections
e.g. acute bacterial exacerbation of COPD and community acquired pneumonia due to Streptococcus pneumonia or Haemophilus influenzae.
Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections
…due to Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes or Streptococcus agalactiae. Abscesses usually required surgical drainage.

0 to 18 Years Old
Azithromycin should be administered as a single daily dose. Azithromycin can be taken with or without food.
The total dose is 30 mg/kg which should be given as single daily dose of 10 mg/kg for 3 days or as an alternative, given over 5 days with a single 10 mg/kg dose on day 1, then 5 mg/kg on days 2-5.
18 Years Old and Above
Azithromycin should be administered as a single daily dose. Azithromycin can be taken with or without food.
Other Details
Store the remaining dry syrup at temperatures below 30ºC, used within 5 days and discard after 6 days.
