Indication
Involution symptoms related to elderly patients
- Memory impairments
- Asthenia
- Adaptation disorders
- Disturbance of psychomotor reaction
Chronic and additive alcoholics
- Pre-delirium.
- Delirium tremens.
- Functional disturbance and declining intelligence which result from chronic alcoholism (memory and concentration impairment, vigilance, and intelligence)
- Detoxification treatment (sudden withdrawal disorder, appetite disturbance and deficiency)
Post-trauma symptoms
- Cerebral dysfunction related to post-trauma effects (headache, vertigo, agitation, memory impairment and asthenia).

Psycho-Organic Syndrome Related to Aging
Initial dose:
2.4 g per day in 3 divided doses for 6 weeks.
Maintenance dose:
1.2 g per day in 3 divided doses.
Post-Traumatic Syndrome
Initial dose:
800 mg 3 times a day orally. After achieved therapeutic effect, decrease the dosage gradually to 400 mg 3 times daily. 1.2 g film-coated caplet is used for treatment in patients who need a high dose.
Usual dose:
1.2-4.8 g per day in 2-3 divided doses.
Patient with Renal Impairment
Normal (CrCl >80 ml/minute):
Usual daily dose, 2-4 subdoses.
Mild (CrCl 50-79 ml/minute):
2/3 usual daily dose, 2 or 3 subdoses.
Moderate (CrCl 30-49 ml/minute):
⅓ usual daily dose, 2 subdoses.
Severe (CrCl <30 ml/minute):
Usual daily dose, single take.
Method of Administration
Piracetam should be administered orally, (II p.2, III p.3) may be taken with or without food. The drug should be swallowed with liquid.
