Dosage

0 to 18 Years Old

There is no experience with the use of lansoprazole in children.

18 Years Old and Above

Lansoprazole is generally administered in the morning but it is also effective when given in the evening.

Duodenal ulcer:
1 x 30 mg a day, for 4 weeks.

Benign gastric ulcer:
1 x 30 mg a day, for 8 weeks.

Reflux esophagitis:
1 x 30 mg a day, for 4 weeks.

Elderly Patients

Normal dose 1 x 30 mg a day, dose adjustment is not necessary.

Long-term Therapy

Long-term therapy with lansoprazole is not recommended at this time because limited clinical experience.

Patients with Liver Dysfunction

Lansoprazole is metabolized primarily in the liver. The results of clinical trials in patients with severe liver dysfunction indicate that the metabolism of lansoprazole is prolonged, but no dose adjustment is necessary in these patients, the dose should not exceed 30 mg per day.

Patients with Renal Dysfunction

Dosage adjustment is not necessary in patients with renal function impairment.
