Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry accelerates seven industrial sectors, including pharmaceuticals, in implementing the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap to make Indonesia the top 10 big countries with the most robust economy globally by 2030. In line with this effort, as Indonesia’s leading international pharmaceutical company, Dexa Group has implemented industry 4.0 in its production process to distribution.
Director of Corporate Affairs Dexa Group, Mr. Krestijanto Pandji, in his presentation entitled “Accelerate the Implementation of Industry 4.0 to Support Inclusivity and Sustainability for National Recovery”, stated that the implementation of Industry 4.0 is the key to the success of the pharmaceutical industry. The most important thing about increasing competitiveness is efficiency.
“Pharma 4.0 can increase competitive advantages to improve all infrastructure within the company. In addition to increasing efficiency and control, they were innovating in ESG and Green Technology. Also reducing carbon emissions and human error,” said Mr. Krestijanto in a series of events Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo 2022 at Menara Bidakara, Jakarta, Thursday (25/8/2022).
Dexa Group has carried out eight implementations of Industry 4.0 in the production process to distribution. The eight implementations are Robotic Automation, the Internet of Things, Building Management System (BAS), Electronic Batch Record / Machine Execution System, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Warehouse Management System, Green Facility, and Enterprise Asset Management.
“In robotic automation, Dexa Group optimizes the human-machine interface. Especially because pharmaceutical regulations in the world are getting stricter, for example, sterile products cannot have a human touch, so they have to use robots,” said Mr. Krestijanto.
Robotic automation also improves quality because every product must be a consistent product. Then regarding the Electronic Batch Record, Dexa Group has applied a 2D barcode that can be tracked in real-time.
“So we know whether Dexa products are still in the distribution process or have been consumed by patients,” added Mr. Krestijanto.
Dexa Group also has a Green Facility recently inaugurated by the Ministry of Industry, namely the Solar Panel (PLTS) at the Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals site, Cikarang. The Solar Panel applied at Ferron’s production facilities is the largest in West Java.
Selain Bapak Krestijanto, hadir pula Chief of Digital Transformation Office Kementerian Kesehatan RI, Bapak Setiaji. Dalam paparannya, Bapak Setiaji menegaskan komitmen pemerintah dalam melakukan transformasi digital sektor kesehatan. Hal ini merupakan salah satu pilar dalam Transformasi Kesehatan. Bapak Setiaji juga mengapresiasi Dexa Group yang telah berpartisipasi dalam transformasi digital ini.
Besides Mr. Krestijanto, the Chief of the Digital Transformation Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Mr. Setiaji was also present at this event. In his presentation, Mr. Setiaji emphasized the government’s commitment to the digital transformation of the health sector. This commitment is one of the pillars of Health Transformation. Mr. Setiaji also appreciated Dexa Group for participating in this digital transformation.
“I believe that we can accelerate the Making Indonesia 4.0 and be in the top 10 of the world’s economy in 2030,” said Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry Dody Widodo representing the Indonesian Minister of Industry, Mr. Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
Mr. Dody said that Indonesia’s goals could be achieved because seven industrial sectors support it as the main focus in Making Indonesia 4.0. It namely the food and beverage industry, textile and fashion industry, automotive, chemical industry, electronics industry, pharmaceutical industry, and medical device industry.
In this event, Dexa Group also participated in the exhibition by setting up a booth with the theme “Dexa Group, Smart Factory Pharma 4.0,”. It featured technology 4.0 that had been implemented at the Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals factory, such as Robotic Automation, Solar Energy, and Electronic Batch Record and Serialization.
The Head of Standardization and Industrial Services Policy Agency of the Indonesian Ministry, Mr. Doddy Rahadi, visited the Dexa Group booth and was accompanied by the Head of Corporate Communications of Dexa Group Mr. Sonny Himawan. Mr. Doddy said that the Ministry of Industry supports implementing 4.0 in the pharmaceutical industry.
“The medical device and pharmaceutical industry sectors are in high demand amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the government strives to improve the competitiveness of the medical device and pharmaceutical industry by encouraging digital-based technology transformation. Therefore, what Dexa Group has done in implementing 4.0 in factories is in line with the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap,” said Mr. Doddy.
